About Folio Stand
Folio Stand is a sheet music reader for iPad and iPhone, made by KKV Labs LLC, an independent software company run by founder Karthik Varma. We are building it because musicians keep reporting the same painful problems with the apps they use today: music that vanishes in sync, marks that disappear, and blank pages in the middle of a performance. The app is in development, with launch planned for early 2027.
Who makes Folio Stand?
Folio Stand is made by KKV Labs LLC. The founder is Karthik Varma. We are a small, independent team with no investors to please, so we can make the slow, careful choices a reliable music app needs.
Why are we building it?
Before writing any code, we read what musicians say about the sheet music apps they rely on: App Store reviews, forums and support threads. The same problems came up again and again:
- Sync that loses music. Duplicates, setlists that vanish, and devices that drift apart, with no way to undo.
- Marks that disappear. Hours of fingerings and bowings gone after an update or a sync.
- Blank or frozen pages in a rehearsal or a performance.
- Hard to learn, and changed again by surprise redesigns.
- No reply when something goes wrong.
Most of these are not about missing features. They are about trust. Folio Stand is built to earn it.
Our principles
Never lose a mark
Every change to your annotations is saved as a version you can restore. Deleted items wait 30 days in a trash. If two devices disagree, we keep both. See how sync works.
Never a blank page
Our own page renderer pre-loads the next pages and the next piece in your setlist. Stage Mode locks the screen against stray touches, and Stage Lock holds sync changes until you finish.
Your data is yours
No account. Your library lives on your devices and in your own iCloud, not on our servers. Backups sit in a folder you can see. Export of everything is free, always, even if you stop paying.

Email support@foliostand.com and a person reads it. We publish what we fix. See contact.
How do we make money?
Folio Stand will have a free plan and a Pro subscription, planned at $49.99 a year or $7.99 a month. No ads, no selling data. A subscription lets us keep the app updated for every new iOS release and keep answering email. See pricing.
What will we never do?
